As of today, all the knives I produce are high carbon. I do not make any stainless steel knives. With normal use, your knife will obtain a beautiful natural patina. The more acidic the food, the more of a patina you will get. There will be beautiful hues of reds, blues, purples, and grays. With that, comes a little care on your part.
No knife I produce is dishwasher safe. To clean it all you have to do is hand-wash it with dish soap and warm water and dry thoroughly after each use. For kitchen knives, a light coat of almost any oil will do like olive or peanut oil. However, I recommend a food grade mineral oil.
For knives not intended for food all the above still applies but a light coat of CLP (cleaner lubricant protectant) or even WD40 or PB Blaster will do just fine. Just apply the oil to a paper towel or rag and then wipe the exposed metal to get a very thin coat. Store in a dry place and your all good!
Every knife I make, comes with a lifetime warranty. I guarantee every blade that leaves my studio will suit the need. Should anything happen; if the blade chips or heaven forbid it actually breaks, I will fix or replace the knife at no additional cost to you.
Once a year I will renew the knife if you like. Shipping to me for annual cleaning is not covered by me. But there is no charge for any and all labor it takes to restore the knife. You will receive progress updates on whatever platform you choose.
I love meeting customers and makers both experienced or not, so feel free to visit during normal business hours. Please call for an appointment when you're ready to learn the art of this Renaissance.
